Sensorimotor-based Concepts & The contrast between Analytic vs. Synthetic Forms

In case of the empty verb + abstract noun constructions the cognitive concept is still transparent, similar to other auxiliary + verb constructions such as the English auxiliaries (have, do, or the emphatic have got).

Theoretically, this morphosynthetic transparency could disappear with the synthetization of the empty verb and the noun, similar to the English suffix –(i)fy (Latin care < facěre ‘make’) as in pacify (similarly Flobert 1996: 197), but in many languages, due to syntactic reasons, this potential development seems blocked.
